This was my great-grandfather's admonition to my brothers, my sister,
my cousins and anyone else within earshot during our collective
childhoods. He knew the importance of developing a wide range of
skills to maintain a livelihood because he had to.
In his ninety-six years, he was a farmer, a miner,
a rancher, a cowboy bull cook, a lumberjack, a railroad engineer,
and much to my great-grandmother's chagrin, a bootleg brewer during
Prohibition. His toolbox was full. Real full. (Because necessity
was the mother of invention, he learned to make rootbeer,
too just to create a plausible excuse for the idle chatter of my
then-child mother.)
Life with him was NEVER boring. He wouldn't stand
for it. And he despised one-trick ponies. (Sure
he can field, but Marty Marion couldn't hit his way out of a wet
paper bag!)
And let's face it; one-trick ponies are really
fun for the first fifteen minutes of the birthday party. But, after
that, the cake and ice cream can't come fast enough.
As a marketer, I've always
heeded my great-grandfather's advice. Too many agencies, consultants
and freelancers steer too many clients down the wrong path because
it's the only path they know. Sometimes advertising is the answer.
Often, it's not. It might be direct mail. Or public relations. Or
even a good, old-fashioned incentive program. That's why the toolbox
at The Marketing Depot is so important.
Regardless of whether you're dealing with an agency (if you actually got one
to talk to you) or a network of freelance service providers, you've
probably got a whole stable-full of one-trick ponies. Ponies that
don't talk to each other, ponies who never do their tricks in unison.
Ponies that eat up your time and compromise the overall effectiveness
of your marketing.
That's why The Marketing Depot is a 17-trick
pony. That's right, seventeen. Great-grandpa would be proud. You
see, our toolbox is full, too.
That way, when you have a business issue, we
can be there to help you determine exactly the right marketing solution
to address that specific issue. No preconceived notions. Just keen
ears and sharp, open marketing minds with all the tools necessary
to help solve your marketing problems.
Tools like logo and corporate identity development,
marketing plan creation, brochures & collateral materials, newspaper
& magazine advertising, television & radio spots, media
planning & placement, direct mail, database marketing, event
marketing, public relations, ad specialties, incentive programs,
point-of-sale merchandising, sales promotion, retail space design
and sales presentations even web site development.
The Marketing Depot has all the basic marketing
tools you'll ever need. (And probably then some.) But, like my great-grandpa,
they're all there just in case. Think about it. Just one source
for all your marketing needs. No more forced solutions. No more
coordination nightmares. No more being shifted to the back burner
because of more important clients. No more constant retraining on
your business. Just one team of dedicated professionals whose only
goal is to help you build your business.
Come check out our toolbox.
Were eager to fix any marketing problem you may have.
